GET S.E.T. Girls was developed by the team at MsMissMrs as part of our mission to empower women and girls across Scotland. We are passionate about empowering girls and young women to become confident, self-aware individuals who are equipped to navigate life's challenges.

We believe that self-esteem and self-awareness are the building blocks for mental, social, and emotional wellbeing. That’s why we created a unique programme that supports girls and young women in their personal development journey.

The GET S.E.T. Girls programme supports girls and young women aged 13+ to realise their worth, build their confidence, and develop powerful self-empowerment strategies that will last long into adulthood.

Our programme covers a wide range of essential topics including boundaries, communication, needs, values, stress, self-image and much more. We understand that each individual is unique, and that’s why we offer a comprehensive exploration of these subjects through our specially designed teacher training guides and workbooks for girls.

The workbook serves as a guide, providing valuable insights and practical exercises to aid in self-reflection and personal growth. It encourages girls and young women to delve into their own thoughts, feelings, and experiences, helping them develop a deeper understanding of themselves.

But it doesn’t end there. We believe that true learning happens through interaction and discussion. That’s why the programme also includes engaging and interactive sessions. These sessions serve as a safe space for participants to explore the topics from the workbook further. Through activities, discussions and reflective learning, we create an environment that fosters personal growth and self-awareness.

Through workshops and a specially-designed 60-page workbook, girls work through activities and discussions to dictate their goals, priorities and needs. In our sessions we explore four areas of wellbeing.

Physical

Helps to develop an awareness of healthy behaviours surrounding physical wellbeing, including managing the physical symptoms of stress and anxiety.

Emotional

Explores strategies to manage emotions and problem solving whilst developing confidence and resilience in a variety of situations.

Social

Teaches healthy communication and setting boundaries, encouraging girls to connect with those around them to produce safer, happier communities.

Mental

Promotes creative ideas and independent thinking whilst exploring the tools necessary for sustained mental wellbeing.

Programme structure

The programme is structured to be delivered over 6-10 sessions with each session lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour. Sessions are designed to be delivered to groups of up to 8 girls at a time, but can also be delivered to smaller groups and 1:1.

Teachers will guide the girls through a wide range of activities during each session, including poster making, manifesto building,  self-talk walls, role play and  reflective journalling.

Alongside these group sessions, girls will also complete their own personal GET S.E.T. workbook and empowerment plan.
